subversive.pics

is a collaborative image feed maintained by triapul. It is also known as sect.html. It aggregates hand-picked feeds of minimalistic image galleries.

subversive.pics is refreshed hourly and fetches the last 5 pictures of each included feed and sorts them chronologically. These are not only aggregated on the website, but also exist in an rss feed of its own. It is ominous by design. All currently subversive galleries are listed at the top of the website.

requirements

If you would like to be included in subversive.pics, you need to host your own image gallery and contact pmjv_prahou. Your submitted gallery then needs to pass a vibe check and must contain an rss feed with direct links to the image files posted to your gallery.

You may also submit your gallery via a codeberg subversive.pics_webring repository maintained by rostiger.

The ideal rss feed

If you are creating or customizing your existing gallery software for peak compatibility with subversive.pics, there exists an rss template that makes use of all its features. The direct links to the images in your rss feed should look like the following:

<img class="webring" src="full path to image" data-timestamp="timestamp" data-thumb="full path to thumbnail" + anything else>

The attributes must appear in this exact order and the <img> tag must exists on its own line.

Consult the img.triapul.cz rss for an example of a fully compatible feed.

While thumbnails are optional, for the benefit of everyone's bandwidth, subversive.pics galleries are expected to provide thumbnails, if their images go over ~300kb.

self-hosted gallery software

The following list of software is known to be compatible with subversive.pics out of the box:
